It is good for your blog SEO to leave comments on Do Follow blogs, but are you following best practices when you do so? Don’t just putz around flitting from one Do follow blog to another leaving any old comment on the blog’s articles in hopes that your SEO will benefit. That is not good practice, not good etiquette at all. I for one do not appreciate it when people leave comments on my blog that have nothing to do with the article I have written and since I moderate my comments, I usually don’t publish these at all.
As blog authors we put a great deal of thought, research and effort into producing good quality blog posts. It is insulting to have people who blow by, leave a comment that has nothing to do with anything except getting their blog more traffic by leaving their footprint on your Do follow blog.
So what is good comment etiquette? How can you comment in such a way to benefit both your own blog and the Do Follow blogs of others? Here is a list of ways to help both your blog and the Do Follow blogs you choose to comment on:
- 1. Take the time actually read the post you will be commenting on.
- I would think this was obvious, but some of the comments I find on my blog tell me that too many people don’t read the post at all. They just make a generic non-descript comment and leave, all because they want to increase their blog’s SEO.
- 2. Subscribe to the rss feed of the Do Follow blogs where you will be leaving comments on a regular basis.
- Every blogger wants more feed subscriptions and the feed will help you know when new content is available for you to comment on.
-
- 3. Only comment on those post topics that you are familiar with.
- In other words leave comments that pertain in some real way to the content of the post. If you are out of your depth don’t comment. People want intelligent well thought out comments, not mindless rants.
- 4. Make the comment of reasonable length.
- Don’t leave 2 or 3 words like “this rocks” or “awesome post” just because it’s a Do Follow blog. The author’s efforts deserve better than that. And if your comments are well written and interesting other commentors may click on your link and check out your blog. On the other hand, don’t write reams either. Keep it on the short side just not too short.
- 5. If you find a particularly good article on a Do Follow blog share it.
- Tell your readers about it by writing a brief post about the article and including a link back to the author’s blog. Or reference the article in an article of your own. Who knows? Maybe you’ll make a valuable friend or strike up a partnership for swapping guest posts.
- 6. Make sure your posts are well written.
- Use good grammar and spelling. Take the time to leave a good quality comment on the blogs you visit. The author is less likely to remove your comments if they are clear and well done. After all, how will it help you and your blog SEO if your comments aren’t published.
- 7. Write in a respectful manner.
- You can disagree with the article or other commentors, but do so with respect. Don’t call people names, use foul language or insult them in any way. Show respect while making your view known can spark a lively discussion. But being rude won’t do anything for anybody.
Leaving intelligent well written comments on Do Follow blogs will help your SEO in ways you never dreamed. Not only that, the owners of the Do Follow blogs that you comment on, may very well return the favor and start leaving comments on your blog as well. Never doubt the power of reciprocity. We bloggers need to stick together and help each other in every way we can.
Please do leave an intelligent comment on this post, this is a Do Follow blog and commenting here may very well help your blog SEO. I will greatly appreciate it.

I agree. It’s so rude when people just leave stupid comments on your blog that have nothing to do with anything. The other thing I hate is when they are so vague that it could have been any blog on anything that they commented on. My motto is: Robots, go away! I would rather have decent conversations with real people any day. Great list.

It is right that we should maintain some sort of ettique during comment on any post. Specially, when we are commenting on a dofollow blog, it means that blog will pass the link juice to our links, so we have a minimum responsibility to return.
To write one research based article or post takes more than five hours. I thinks these all posting are helpful for us for sharing the knowledge and promoting the world towards knowledge enhancement. Back links is another good aspect of blogging but to write a single word in comment is equivalent to make the writer hyper.
i am thankful to that writer that has felt it and guided us .
It’s a shame that most people comment on blogs just to get a free link. They need to know that they should contribute something to the blog.
Yes it’s very important to contribute. After all the other visitors to the blog are another possible audience who can be tempted to read your blog if you leave high quality and meaningful comments. Every little bit helps.
