I recently decided that I wanted to try my hand at creating my own twitter buttons and badges, but I was having trouble getting the twitter text just so. After much fussing I got the basic text just the way I wanted it, but then I realized that I was going to want to use the text more than once... what to do? A brush, of course, I could make the twitter text logo into a Gimp brush. So that's what I did. I also created a twitter text PNG for those of you who use other image editing and graphics programs.
You can never have too many Gimp tutorials and you can never have too many Gimp brushes. So here is an easy gimp tutorial to help you create your own Gimp bubble brushes. Bubble brushes can help you create some great graphics, like this:

Time flies when you're having fun or you have some nice wings to put on your clock! I've noticed from the stats for the site that a great many people are getting here by doing searches for "wings" and "angel wings", even "wings tutorials". Since my nickname is Blog Angel and the site is Blogs With Wings, its only fair that you should be able to get some wings and things for stopping by! So I spent some time making a small set of gimp wing brushes that you can download and use with Gimp.
The most important things to consider in any web or blog design decision are the purpose of the site and who your viewers are likely to be. Knowing what you want to achieve with the site and whom you wish to reach are the two most important considerations when choosing the color palette for your design. Colors that appeal to your audience are key to the design, but you can't know your audience if you don't know the purpose for the web site or blog you are designing for.
