I have a dear friend, Glenn who "mans" the Man Over Board blog. He writes from the male perspective and as a woman I find his blog quite interesting. No he is not writing an anti-woman blog, he's just doing his best to put a male spin on the topics he writes about. Honestly, he has a very entertaining writing style and his posts regularly make me chuckle. Well, he and Iwere talking, actually emailing and Glenn said something...
You know how you get into "those" discussions? The ones where someone says something and you feel you just have to respond. Especially when you feel knowledgeable and competent in the topic at hand... you know those moments. The ones where you just don't see it coming and you put your foot in it. I recently had one of those moments...
Glenn was going on about being in the minority when it comes to blogging, stating how 90% of bloggers are women. I felt bad for him so I did my best to console him with some academic trivia I had stored away on the topic of male and female communication skills. I felt quite good about the whole thing. And then I thought I'd do a little research and find out just how big the spread is. Who really does blog more? Men or women? Boy did I get a big surprise. You should check out what I discovered - its all in a guest post over at Glenn's blog, its entitled: Battle of the Sexes - Do Men Dominate the Blogsphere? Believe me its a real eye-opener.
