Google Page Rank Image
You know that backlinks from sites with a page rank higher than your own can help boost your own search engine standings, right? So what if I told you that you can get unlimited free backlinks from quality sites that have really high page rankings? No, I'm not kidding you. It will require a little work on your part, but it's worth it for the return you can get in better search engine rankings and higher traffic to your blog.

So what do you have to do? Write articles. I know you can do that, because you are a blogger and writing aticles (posts) is what we do. What you can do with those articles to get you noticed is the trick...

Follow up:

Are you ready? Here it is... the big secret. Submit articles to article directories. Not just any old directories, but ones that have a high page rank and those that give you Do Follow links back to your blog.

How easy is that? VERY. You get back links on sites that have a high page ranking, which helps you with your own SEO. In addittion, people may very well find your article submission through a search engine or while hunting the directory for free content. If they like your article they may visit your blog and even better if they like it enough they may publish it. If they are good honest people they will keep the author's box with your bio and blog links intact. This means their readers get exposed to your article and may follow that link back to your site. Oooooh, the potential gives me goosebumps.

And it's all free. You don't have to write super huge articles, 300 to 700 words should do nicely. Make sure the articles are of the highest quality. Meaningful content, good grammar, excellent spelling - everything you normally do or should do when writing your posts. You will also need to be aware of the submission guidelines for the directories you are submitting to. If your articles fail to meet their standards they won't get published. So take the time to understand what they expect from you.

On the upside and to save you some time, some directories, like Ezine Articles, will allow you to use article posts you have already published on your blog. This can be a great way to breathe new life into those old posts that nobody reads anymore. They are probably still full of valuable content, but they are chronologically at the bottom of the heap and don't get as much traffic.

At the Virtual Real Estate Toolbar site, I don't recommend the toolbar - it's mostly advertising, but they have a list of 50 article directories with their coresponding Alexa Rating, Google Pagerank and specifying which ones are No Follow. You want the Do Follow ones, this is easy because most of them are Do Follow sites. Makes it more inviting for us submitters.

So check out some of these directories, sign up and start submitting artilces. Even an article a week will start adding up and so will your quality backlinks.

Wow this is a good idea. I used to do some articles but haven't done it in a while. And I could use some of my older posts. Thanks

Great post and it does work. I also have found that submitting comments to high page rank blogs and websites with do follow works great too.

I have found that many edu sites not only allow you to post, but post without any moderation or signing up. You can nail a handful a day and in a month you will see the benefits.

I have a list of these sites if anyone would like a copy just let me know or you can just do a Google search and find these lists that are out there.

SEO is an ongoing and mostly boring task. But one that needs to be done if you want your blog to continue to grow.

Nice reminder of the value that article submissions can add to our link building efforts.

I'd love to get some feedback on a tool that tracks your backlinks for you and automatically verifies that the links are still live. You can find it at www.backlinkreporter.com. It's free, but requires a link for use. It's brand new, so it'd be great to hear what people think about it.

Has anyone found an article distribution service or package that actually works? I have tried several, and all of them seem to send articles to a bunch of directories that never seem to ever approve or decline the articles submitted- they just seem to sit there (many for longer than 5 months as I write this).
